Our Little Girl…

Yesterday we got to get a sneak look at our little girl!  We had another big ultrasound to make sure everything was cooking the way it is supposed to.  It was the longest ultrasound I have had (it was great!).  We got to see her swallowing amniotic fluid, get a bad case of hiccups, use my bladder like a bongo drum with her feet, stretch out really long, kick the ultrasound wand from my belly, and so much more.  It was great.  She was even in the right position to see her cute little face in 3D.  Adam and I have wanted a 3D/4D (real time) ultrasound since we were pregnant with Nolan but our babies haven’t wanted to cooperate, until yesterday.  She was in perfect view… It was so amazing.  And I must say, she is pretty cute already! ;)

But the best news of all was that as far as they could tell, she is perfectly healthy.  We hadn’t really shared with many people, but at our last ultrasound she had an irregular heartbeat.  With everything we have had going on with Scotty’s heart surgery, this felt very overwhelming to us.  The thought of her having something wrong with her heart was giving me pretty bad anxiety.  Not that we wouldn’t deal with whatever came our way, or love her just as much, but after going through Scotty’s open heart and watching his battle, it just felt like too much.  We don’t want that for her, and I’m pretty sure Scotty would say the same thing.  So my doctor told us we needed to see a high risk specialist to have a heart study done.  So I have been sick to my stomach for the 3 weeks leading up to this.  So yesterday, they did the study of her heart and said they had no reason to believe there is anything wrong or unhealthy with her tiny heart.  They felt so confident that they didn’t even feel that we needed a follow up appointment!  So we are jumping for joy right now with this great news!

This appointment made it all so real to me.  She is such an active, tiny little person already.  It left me feeling very excited and more happy than I can describe.  I am really looking forward to our new family of four, even with all of the bumps and craziness I know we can expect with the addition of a new baby.  I can’t wait to meet her and hold her in my arms.

I also thought I would share some pictures of her pretty little face…

Boy or Girl?!?

On the 17th we had our big anatomy ultrasound.  We were really hoping to get a 3d view, but of course the baby was not cooperating (neither did Nolan).  They have to be laying on their side for the 3d to work correctly and this little one was laying tummy down with it’s face looking down toward my hips.

We knew we wanted to know the sex of the baby we went.  At first the ultrasound tech wasn’t sure if she was going to be able to tell, because the baby had it’s legs in an awkward position, but then she said, “I think it’s a girl.”  I was thinking, “You think?!?  I want to know!”  So she checked a few other things and went back to it and was able to get a better view and told us for sure that IT’S A GIRL

We are very excited to have one of each!  We are now trying to think of names for our little baby girl.  I hope Adam and I agree better on girl’s names than boy’s.

All of The Leezers & The Roses

We got to take a trip to Colorado this month.  It was beautiful!  We stayed in a cabin in Estes Park right at the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park.  We got to hang out with Gretchen and all of the Roses.  We made a couple trips to Boulder and a trip to Ft. Collins.
In Boulder we got to try some restaurants and do a little shopping.  In Ft. Collins the guys took a trip to the New Belgium Brewing Co for a tour and tasting.  The girls (plus Nolan and JJ) spent time and Tim and Sarah’s house.  In Estes Park, Bob and Carol had us over for many great meals where we got to catch up with everyone and play some games.  The guys got to take a few hikes in the Rockies and Adam brought back some beautiful pictures.  I did some shopping and got to do a drive through the park on our last day in Estes.
Hiking was not in my cards because my pregnancy and I did NOT get along too well with the altitude.  Honestly, I was having a hard time breathing after walking across the room.   That was my least favorite part.  I did manage to “hike” about 300 ft from the car to Bear Lake at 9500 ft.  Because of all of the snow, ice and freezing wind, I am going to pretend it was a lot harder than it sounds! ;)
Adam, Nolan, and I had planned on staying an extra night in Ft. Collins, but Nolan got a fever so we changed our plans so we could share our sickness with Auntie G!  It ended up working out really well and we were all glad to spend the extra time with Gretchen and get to see some more of Boulder.
We had a really good time and are already talking about when we can make it back!

This is a video Adam took of Nolan from the end of January.  It is a good video of all of his talking.  He always has something random to say!

This is another old video of Nolan we thought was cute. It is from July. It was in the morning shortly after him and Adam got up. He seems so tiny to me in this video.

Adam and I were looking at old videos of Nolan last night and I came across this one from September. I wanted to post it for my mom because he mentions MeMe (my mom) a few times in the video.  He also mentions Uncle Rich.

That's a lot of kids & babies!

That's a lot of kids & babies!

All of the 2007 babies!

All of the 2007 babies!

About a week ago Jeanne, Nolan, & I took a trip to Aurora.  Gina is visiting from D.C. so we got to hang out with her, Aunt Mary, Karen, Sarah, and all of their kids!  It is crazy to have them all together, but really fun.  It is especially weird to see all of the babies that were born in 2007 together and see that they aren’t looking so much like babies anymore.  We had a great time and I’m glad we had the chance to all get together.
