Our Little Girl…
Yesterday we got to get a sneak look at our little girl! We had another big ultrasound to make sure everything was cooking the way it is supposed to. It was the longest ultrasound I have had (it was great!). We got to see her swallowing amniotic fluid, get a bad case of hiccups, use my bladder like a bongo drum with her feet, stretch out really long, kick the ultrasound wand from my belly, and so much more. It was great. She was even in the right position to see her cute little face in 3D. Adam and I have wanted a 3D/4D (real time) ultrasound since we were pregnant with Nolan but our babies haven’t wanted to cooperate, until yesterday. She was in perfect view… It was so amazing. And I must say, she is pretty cute already! ;)
But the best news of all was that as far as they could tell, she is perfectly healthy. We hadn’t really shared with many people, but at our last ultrasound she had an irregular heartbeat. With everything we have had going on with Scotty’s heart surgery, this felt very overwhelming to us. The thought of her having something wrong with her heart was giving me pretty bad anxiety. Not that we wouldn’t deal with whatever came our way, or love her just as much, but after going through Scotty’s open heart and watching his battle, it just felt like too much. We don’t want that for her, and I’m pretty sure Scotty would say the same thing. So my doctor told us we needed to see a high risk specialist to have a heart study done. So I have been sick to my stomach for the 3 weeks leading up to this. So yesterday, they did the study of her heart and said they had no reason to believe there is anything wrong or unhealthy with her tiny heart. They felt so confident that they didn’t even feel that we needed a follow up appointment! So we are jumping for joy right now with this great news!
This appointment made it all so real to me. She is such an active, tiny little person already. It left me feeling very excited and more happy than I can describe. I am really looking forward to our new family of four, even with all of the bumps and craziness I know we can expect with the addition of a new baby. I can’t wait to meet her and hold her in my arms.
I also thought I would share some pictures of her pretty little face…
